DORMITION CATHEDRAL

Dormition Cathedral is one among the several churches in Cathedral Square that is located in the premises of Moscow’s Kremlin.  The cathedral was constructed between 1475 and 1479 during the era of Grand Duke Ivan III of Moscow.

This cathedral is regarded as the mother church of Muscovite Russia. It has also been used as a place of coronation of the Romanov Tsars as well as the burial place for Moscow Metropolitans along with the Patriarchs of Orthodox Church.
