How To Reach

  • By Foot: BärenPark is located at just about a 10-15 minute walk from Bern’s Old Town and Bern Train Station. You can easily follow the signs towards the Nydegg Bridge, which leads directly to the park.  
  • By Bus: Take bus routes 10, 12, or 21 and stop at Bärenplatz. From here, it’s a short walk across Nydeggbrücke Bridge to the park.  
  • By Tram: Tram number 6 (direction Worb Dorf) also stops at nearby Bärenplatz. From there, you can walk or hire a taxi to the park.

Best Time To Visit

  • Year-round: Open 24/7 all year.  
  • Best Day: Consider visiting on weekdays for crowd-free visit exploration.  
  • Best Time: Early mornings or late afternoons during bear feeding hours are recommended, typically between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Other Essential Information

  • Visit during the early morning or late afternoon for the best chances of seeing the bears active and feeding. 
  • Bears may be hibernating in the winter months between late November and March. 
  • The park is easily accessible by foot from Bern’s city centre, and it’s free to enter. 
  • Bring comfortable walking shoes as there are several paths to explore. 
  • Don’t forget your camera as there are plenty of great photo opportunities, especially from the various viewing platforms.
