The Aritar Gumpa, also known as the Ari Gumpa, is a monastery located near Pakyong, Sikkim. This monastery is famous for being an important vantage point for the best views of the Himalayas. A visit to Aritar is incomplete without visiting the lake located close to the monastery. It is located a short drive away from the monastery and has all that you need to unwind after a long day. This lake is located at a height of 4915 feet and comes with a boating facility too. Tourists can either go boating and enjoy the views of the mountains or even walk alongside the lake. This is also one of the highest lakes in Sikkim with a boating facility.
Alternatively known as the Ari Bangla, this is one of the most prominent attractions in Aritar. This is a bungalow dating back to the British era and is at a height of 1447 metres. This bungalow was built by a British officer named Sir James Claude White and it continues to exist. This palace was also used as a health centre for injured soldiers in the 20th century. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction and above all, a famous hotel in the region.
