Two-phase gondola rides are available to take you to the Apharwat peak. To get from the base to phase 1, you must board one of the yellow gondola cubicles. After completing that, you can board the red gondola cubicle to be transported directly to the Apharwat summit.
Adventurers and fit tourists can hike thirteen kilometres from Gulmarg (via Khilanmarg) to get to Alpather Lake in one day. If you're not inclined to go on foot, you can just take the 1.5-kilometer hike from Mt. Apharwat's Gondola Phase II.
