Day 01: Leh too Kargil:



Post breakfast, we head to Kargil en route visitalchi, Basgo Palace, Liker Monastery along with Gurudwara Pathar Shab. We will arrive in Kargil by evening time and stay overnight in a hotel.



Day 02: Kargil to Raru:



Drive in the morning to Raru and visit the banks of Lungnak river. It is a perfect site of ancient rock carvings as it dates back to 8th century. The day will be passed in visiting the monastery of Bardan Gompa and it is located on the bank of trek route. It is then followed by a walk to Lechar across Tserap river where we have the chance to roam in the village. The camp is held in Dorzong village for overnight stay.



Day 03: Trek Dorzong to Kalbok 5/6 hrs.



The walk is smooth and easy and it is parallel to Tserap river. The villages of Surley and Tsethang are trek passed culminating in an overnight campsite at KAL-BOK.



Day 04: Trek Kalbok to Phukthal Gompa. 5/6 hrs.



This is the place which has the confluence of Tserap and ka-ryak rivers. We will extend trekking a little further till Phukthal Gompa. It houses Phukthal monastery which will be visited during the day. Phukthal has the credit of being the most enriching located monastic establishment which Ladakh is known for as it dates back to 12th century. Overnight campsite is done at Gompa.



Day 05: Trek Phukthal to Tangtak gompa 6/7 hrs.

 

From Phukthal monastery ascend along the Tserap river. The path is rocky and has various ups and down. There are streams along the way as well. This is place where you can possibly be able to see wild life in the form of Hi-malayan mountain sheep along with snow leopard. The track follows to ascend till Shade village. And you can also be a proud witness to the junction of Tserap as well as Strong-day river on the rivers other side. From the junction and walking 2 hours approximately, you will reach your campsite and there is a river in front, thus enhancing the beauty even further as well.



Day 06:



Trek day trip to Shade 3/4 hrs. You will explore the village by meeting the locals and sharing thoughts and interest, and finally returning back to your camp.



Day 07: Trek Tangthak to Hormoche via Naylokungtse la 4900 mtr and Gotungla 5250 mtr 7/8 hrs.



The morning time will entail you towards climbing up the picturesque valley which is ahead of the volcanic mountain. The view from the top is simply breathtaking. While going to the next pass, there is an enriching view of the lake which is simply mind-blowing. Beyond the second pass, it turns out to be quite steep, presenting the coveted views about the lake along with the coveted volcanic mountain. A sight of snow leopard, yak or ever a common lbex might surprise you as well. Then, return to the campsite for overnight stay.



Day 08: Trek Hormoche to Sathak village.{6/7 hrs}



There is an easy walk from the camp which passes through Tserap river. The way is indeed synonymous with nice landscape, rocky gorge as well as a river which comes from Tibet border. The camp is set up at Sathak village for overnight stay.

 

Day 09: Trek Sathak to Tsokmesik {6/7 hrs}



Head towards the left side and continue till you reach the first small pass. Thereby, you are going to get an extremely nice view about the gorge landscape of river bank. If you are lucky you might even see Ibex. The way is not smooth but it stands out to be quite beautiful as the trail passes through a beautiful and coveted way along the river bank where the camp is set for overnight stay.



Day 10: Trek Tsokmesik to Morang la base. 4/5 hrs {4200 mtrs}



The walk is indeed quite ease as it is followed by the narrow valley which passes through river stream along with bushes, thereby leading to the camp which is set up at about 4450 mtr.



Day 11:



Trek to Lungo via Morang la 5300 mtr, 17300 ft, 6/7 hrs. Head from the camp to steep climb till Marang la pass which is roughly 5300m. You need to go to the top to experience beauty like never before. The trek from here descends in a gentle way through various valleys till Lun (it is 4100mt) where the camp is set for overnight stay.



Day 12: Trek Lungo to Sangtha 6/7 hrs.



In the morning, begin your trekking expedition along the river. You will cross a small village namely Nomad from Karnek region culminating your overnight stay near river bank. You might even be able to meet people from Tibet nomads.



Day 13:



Trek Sangtha to Pangche do {Nomad village} The walk is going to be easy as it synonymous with the stream river passing small villages and Monasteries. Here you have the chance of witnessing ˜Kang “ a wild horse. The evening will give you various surprises as the sight of yak, goat and ship is indeed quite lovely. There will be an overnight camp here.



Day 14: Trek Pangchen do to Walthang {Nomad camp} via Pangche la 5350 mtr 6/7 hrs.



Gradual climb the pass till it long lasts which is then followed by a trail along the river. As you pass through Rupshu, you are going to see nomads dominating the area. Similarly, you will be able to see the big plateau along with open valley which is synonymous with snowy peaks from the pass. The camp is set up at Nomad area for overnight stay.



Day 15:



Trek Walthang to Nuruchan 4/5 hrs. Have a smooth and easy walk and be mesmerized with the pleasant and everlasting beauty. Subsequently, have an overnight camp near river bank.



Day 16:Trek Nuruchan to Rachung karu via Horlamkonga 4/5 hrs.



There is an easy ascent to the pass from the camp which roughly takes 90minutes. As you take the pass through the valley, the trail heads towards north-east direction. The camp is set across the river at the base of Kyamayurla pass where you will be spending overnight.



Day 17: Trek Rachungkaru to Gyamalhoma via Kyamayurla pass 5300m, 6/7 hrs.



After leaving the camp, you will begin climbing the Kyamayur la pass which is indeed 5300m. It will hardly take around 2 hours on an average.



As the pass ends, the trail is going to lead towards north east and it will head towards another small pass namely Gyamaila which is 5150m. This is the coveted place which gives you the luxury of viewing group of peaks as well. Thereafter, you are going to walk down towards north east. After crossing a small river along with Gyamala homes, you are going to reach your base which is at Korzok la.



Day 18: Trek Gyamalhoma to Korzok via Korzok la {5400m} 6/7 hrs



Begin an easy ascent to the Korzok pass along the stream. It only takes 2 hours while you are going to reach the top as you will be having a perfect view of the picturesque Tsomo Riri Lake. Later on, steep down to Korzok village. Then stay at the camp for overnight stay.



Day 19: Korzok to Leh Drive 220 km 6/7 hrs.



Post your breakfast, drive along the Indus river. You are going to pass many villages along with renowned hot spring water. Finally, stay overnight at Leh.
