Itinerary

• Day 1 -

  Arrive at Athens and make your way to the hotel.

  In the evening, meet your tour group and your tour leader in the hotel lobby for a briefing about the week ahead.

  Then, you’ll head out to a local restaurant to fill up on your first authentic Greek dinner.

  Overnight in Athens.

• Day 2 -

  After breakfast in the hotel, head out for an in-depth tour of Athens with an expert local guide to see the city's best sights. This is a 3 hour tour that will start at 8:30 am.

  Visit Kallimarmaro Stadium, Hadrian’s Arch, the Temple of Zeus, Parliament, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Then visit the Acropolis, heart of ancient Athens crowned by the Parthenon.

  You are free to do as you wish post lunch. You could go visit the majestic temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion (additional cost - approximately INR 7,000/person based on 10 minimum people confirming the same) or alternatively, go shopping for olive oil, leather sandals and more in Athens’ old city, Plaka.

• Day 3 -

  After breakfast, you’ll transfer from your hotel to the port to catch the Bluestar Ferries to the island of Santorini (you’ll leave at around 6:30 AM).

  Upon arrival (around 3:30), you’ll be picked up and driven to the hotel.

  Spend the rest of the day as you wish.

  Dinner: at a local restaurant accompanied by beautiful views at sunset.

• Day 4 -

  After breakfast, set out to explore the island, which includes a donkey ride and a photoshoot at the Santo Wine factory, which offers one of the best views over the island, volcano and Aegean Sea.

  You will have lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the village of Pyrgos, set high on a volcanic crater on Santorini's west coast.

  Then, you’ll make our way to Oia. The view from the cliffs is one of the most famous vistas in the world.

  End the day with dinner at a local restaurant. Try traditional dishes such as matsata (local pasta served with veggies, rooster, veal or goat) and toast to your unforgettable day with glasses of assyrtiko white wine.

• Day 5 -

  After breakfast, you have free time to explore or relax. You could indulge in a spot of retail therapy; the shops in Santorini have a variety of goods to tempt you: natural sea sponges, beautiful ceramics, local products such as tomato juice or a bottle of famous Santorini wine, and handmade gold and silver jewellery.

  You will depart for the port around 1:00 PM and travel via the Bluestar Ferries to Athens. Upon arrival, you will be driven to the hotel.

• Day 6 -

  After breakfast, head out on a tour of Delphi.

  Considered as the center of the world by the ancients as well as being the site of the Temple of Apollo and its famous oracle (no longer in business), it’s one of Greece’s most sacred sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  You’ll be driven through the plains of Beotia, past Thebes, Levadia and Arachova until you reach Delphi. (3 hours)

  At Delphi you’ll take a guided tour. Explore the Treasury of the Athenians, Archaeological Museum and the Temple of Apollo.

  Afterwards, you will drive to Meteora, one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world, where tiny monasteries balance on immense sandstone rock pillars that rise dramatically from the plains like giants.

  You’ll check in at the hotel in Kalambaka and have dinner.

  Overnight in Kalambaka.

• Day 7 -

  This morning, you’ll explore a little more of Meteora, post breakfast at the hotel.

  You will then return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia, with a quick stop at Thermopylae to see the Leonidas Monument.

  You’ll arrive back at the capital early in the evening.

  End your Greek getaway with a group dinner and enjoy a folklore show in Plaka, complete with live music, ballet and dancers in traditional dress.

• Day 8 -

  After breakfast, check out and make your way to the airport to board your flight back home.
