About the tour:

Udaypur Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary located in West Champaran district of Bihar state, India.  It covers an area of 8.74 km². The wildlife sanctuary is predominantly wetland, located on an oxbow lake in the floodplain of the Gandaki River. It is the home for a variety of water birds, both resident and migratory.  The Nearest town and railhead in Bettiah.

Udaypur Wildlife Sanctuary is a home for different species of wild animals, birds and plants and a haven for different species of migrating birds in Bihar. Floristic combination of the UWS consists of different species of trees such as Acacia catechu, a deciduous, thorny tree which grows up to 15 m (50 ft) in height and Dalbergia sissoo, which is commonly known as Indian Rosewood, is an evergreen rosewood tree etc. Faunal species found in the sanctuary include Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Wild Boar, Nilgai, Wolf and Jungle Cat etc. Ornithologists recorded the occurrence of different species of resident and migrating waterbirds in the sanctuary.
