DAY 01: Arrive in Yuksom


• You arrive at Yuksom and check in the hotel.


• Have your dinner after orientation with the team followed by some briefing for the next day.


• Overnight at hotel.


DAY 02: Local sightseeing


• Today post a scrumptious organic meal, you set out to visit the wee town of Yuksom.


• Starting from a small holy lake which is overflowing with fishes, as no fishing is allowed here, you further visit the Coronation throne, where the first king of Sikkim was crowned after a holy ceremony.


• As you proceed towards the upper village you reach a few gigantic boulders, which is the spot for the various rope activities.


• The day will be spent enjoying thrills of Abseiling and rock climbing followed by a picnic lunch at a scenic spot.


• Evening of leisure.


DAY 03: Cultural hike from Yuksom to Chong Village


• Starting from the hotel you walk through the green trails of Yuksom village, and reach Dubdi monastery standing atop a hill, amidst an air tight forest of huge pine trees.


• Further walking along the trail, you come across a beautiful waterfall thundering into a pool of crystal clear ready to drink natural mineral water.


• Spending some time at the waterfall you climb down to reach a Lepcha (a mountain tribe) village called Chong. Here you spend some nice time at a local house, communicating with the locals and understanding their way of living.


• Have a nice home-grown and home-cooked local meal, with all sorts of mountain veggies and rice.


• Spend all the time you want to spend in the local world before driving back to your hotel at Yuksom.


DAY 04: Cycling on the surrounding trails/bird watching/ nature hike.


• Today you have an option of either pushing some cranks and touring the natural habitat of West Sikkim or exploring the flora and fauna of the Kanchenjunga National Park (KNP), by going on a bird-watching hike.


• Both the experiences are better than each-other as this area maintains one of the greenest and richest ecosystems. 


• Overnight at hotel.


DAY 05: Hike to Khechuperi. Hike for 4-5 hours


• On this fine day you will go for a day hike to the holy lake of Khechuperi.


• Starting from your hotel in Yuksom, you climb down to the Rathong River, crossing a small Lepcha village. Here you cross the river and hike up to Leythang, a spot where you will see a wonder of nature, a singing stone, which rings like a bell if struck by another stone.


• Moving further, you come across a few more villages, a hanging bridge and a few more streams before arriving at the magnificent Lake.


• Filled with mysterious fishes and water animals, Khechuperi marks as an important feature for the local communities.


• Spend some time at the holy lake before heading towards a beautiful homestay, where you will spend the night. One can try the local wine made out of millet, in a traditional tumbler, called Tumba.


• Enjoy a mild brew, fine enough to take away fatigue of the day.

DAY 06: Hike to meditation cave, drive back to Yuksom via palace ruins and monastery at Pelling.


• Post breakfast, you hike to an ancient cave where many saints use to sit in meditation.


• The spot gives a perfect view of the lake; it is from here you notice that it’s in a shape of a giant foot step, which also gives the lake its name.


• Meditating for a while in the peaceful cave, you climb down to the home stay and get back to the road to board your vehicles.


• En route visit the ruins of the second palace of ancient Sikkim, which was destroyed in an invasion, and a beautiful monastery atop a hill nearby.


• Towards the evening you reach back to Yuksom where you celebrate the experience you had in this mysterious green country.


• Overnight at hotel.

DAY 07: Depart To NJP.
