The Overnight Hike Knuckles Riverston package provides you
with the scope of going through an overnight hike and witness nature wonders of
the amazing knuckles mountain range through the Riverston area. Grab the

Riverston, the point from where you can observe the entire view of the surrounding countryside, in addition to Thelgamuwa Valley.
The package comes with comfortable hotel pickup & drop
off facility on a tuktuk along with letting you grab delicious meals, tea with
snacks & bottled water. The tour is also accompanied with the assistance of
a professional trekking team and standard equipment & first aid officer
with a stretcher. The package is inclusive
of all entrance fees and taxes and provides a memorable DVD with all the photos
and videos. You shall also be provided with overnight accommodation at a
holiday resort.
Timings: The package has the duration of 1 night 2 days,
where the tour begins at 5.30 am on the first day and ends at 6.30 pm on the
second day.
Start/End Location: The package comes with convenient pickup
and drop off facility to and from your hotel in Kandy, Dambulla, Sigiriya or
Habarana.
Note: The minimum number of persons required to book this
package is 2.
05:30: You will be picked up from your hotel in Kandy, Dambulla, Sigiriya or Habarana and driven to Matale.
06:30: Reach Matale town and drive to the programme starting point.
08:00: Your guide will explain the details of the hike before starting the hike.
08:10: Start the hike with an experienced hiking guide, first aid officer and a backup emergency transport vehicle. Walk 1.5km to Riverston summit.
09:30: Get into vehicle and travel 5km and then walk 3.5km to mini world’s end.
11:30: You will be driven by the vehicle to a waterfall where you will have your lunch.
13:00: You will start 3km Trekking to clock rock.
16:30: You will be driven to Green View Holiday Resort for the overnight stay.
17:30: Enjoy the evening Tea at the hotel.
20:30: BBQ dinner in the hotel
07:30: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
08:30: Leave the hotel and drive 7km by the vehicle.
10:00: Trek through the jungle to Sera Ella waterfalls and enjoy sitting on the rock seats under the spray. The trek is 7km.
12:00: Return to your hotel by the vehicle and enjoy lunch.
13:30: Check out from the hotel and drive 12km to enjoy some water activities.
18:30: You will return to your overnight hotel. (Pick up from Sigiriya, Dambulla, Habarana and drop off in Kandy or wise versa is possible)

The best time to start Knuckles Mountain Range Hiking would be in the morning from 6-8 am when the sun is still low over the horizon. The best seasons to climb the Knuckles range would be from December to February when the possibility of rain is moderate and from March to September which has the lowest possibility of rain.
The Knuckles Mountain Range camping is also a favourite activity among tourists. The Knuckles Range gets its name from a group of five peaks that resemble a clenched fist when viewed from certain parts of Kandy district. The trek includes stretches where you are transported by a vehicle.
There are beautiful and serene waterfalls where lunch will be served. One can also enjoy water activities which are a part of the package and are conducted towards the end of the trip on the second day.
The Knuckles Mountain Range Hiking is of moderate level difficulty and is not recommended for children below the age of 10 years. The path is well laid out and passes a couple of high security communication towers. The climb is a mix of steep and moderately steep stretches which are not difficult to climb.
Children above the age of 10 can participate in the trek with the company of adults. Since it is a moderately difficult trek children below the age of 10 are not recommended to take part in the Knuckles range trek.
The Knuckles range is a must visit destination in your trip to Srilanka. The Knuckles mountain range gets its name from the series of recumbent peaks resembling a clenched fist when viewed from certain locations in the district of Kandy.
There are cloud forests at higher altitudes filled with a major percentage of all endemic species of plant life making it a biodiversity hotspot. There are a total of 9 peaks over 1200 meters in the Knuckles range with the highest peak measuring over 1906 meters. It is a pristine environment with mist filled forests and beautiful chirping birds everywhere.
