Founded during the 4thto 8thcentury, AD, Hanuman Dhoka is the royal palace in Kathmandu. This considerably expanded place is one of the most stunning destinations in the region. The sprawling palace, which was damaged during the 2015 earthquake is now extensively restored. After the restoration, people would be able to access the stunning courtyards and museums of this place without a hassle. The palace is impressive in mature. It is believed that Hanumana guarded important parts of this palace because of Lord Rama Highlights:There’s a statue at this place that dates from 1672 AD and the god’s face seems to have disappeared due to application of vermillion by the devotees that come here from all over the world. When the kings ruled over Nepal, grievances were not solved through a toll free, customer care number. Rather, it was solved with the Taleju Bell. Of course, there weren’t any phones back then so the rulers found out new, unique ways to hear their disciples. The bell, which is ancient and huge hangs between two stout pillars, providing access to be rung. Highlights: The bell was erected by King Vishnu Malla in 1736. The idea for its construction was to make kings more accountable to the citizens. Over the years, petitioners have rung this bell to alert the king about their grievances. And their issues were sorted out. The bell was broken during the 2015 earthquake disaster, however the pavilion stayed intact. The place is being restored. The 17thcentury rendition of the renowned Swayambhunath temple, Kathesimbhu Stupa is one of the most popular Tibetan pilgrimage sites in Kathmandu. Located between Thamel and Durbar Square, the stupa was built using the left over materials from Swayambhunath temple complex. It is set in a hidden courtyard, surrounded by smaller stupas, engravings and statutes. Although well maintained and intact, this UNESCO World Heritage Site witnessed minor damages in the 2015 earthquake. Highlights:In the northwestern corner of the courtyard there’s a beautiful pagoda dedicated to Hariti, the goddess of smallpox whereas the northeast corner is adorned with the Drubgon Jangchup Choeling Monastery.Location:Kathmandu, Nepal.Timings:The complex is opened for public access the entire day throughout the week.Price:There is no admission charges for entry into the stupa complex.

Asan, a shopper’s delight is one of the main marketplaces in central Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. The place is a historic bazaar which has been popular for decades. The section is known for its festival calendar and strategic location as well. Highlights:Streets at Asan converge in a square, which makes it a perpetual, bustling region. The colors here are vivid and bright, which makes it more enticing for the travelers. A variety of merchandise and diverse range of products are sold at this place, which makes it more exciting for travelers. Here, you can buy anything from spices to textiles, bullions, electronics and food items. If you have a spiritual bent of mind then the best thing would be to visit the famous Pashupatinath Temple. This temple id dedicated to Lord Shiva and has attracted millions of Hindu followers. Most of the people visit this temples when they are living the final days before they meet death. The river Bagmati which flows along is considered to be the most sacred river for cremation. It is also believed that people who die here are reborn as humans again irrespective of their conduct on earth. Highlights: You can also visit Panch Deval which has five temple complex which was a holy shrine but not place for old people to stay. Location: Pashupatinath road , Kathamandu. Prices: USD 29. Kopan Monastery is predominantly covered with Bodhi trees. Once upon a time this place was considered to be the residing place of astrologer for the king of Nepal. The view across this monastery is simply magical. It has accommodated some 360 monks, lamas, teachers and workers. This monastery is the place where everybody residing here has devoted their time to study the teaching of Buddha Shakyamuni. Everybody is on the look around to follow the teachings of the founder Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Riponche. Highlights: Learn about the monastic tradition and how they live and what all did they practiced. Meditation, teaching and community services are some of the prominent features of this place. Witness one of the largest kingdom of the Kathmandu valley and you will be simply mesmerized with its breath-taking looks. It had some of the best preservation of the olden times, however, they were destroyed because of the recent earthquake in 2015. Near the roadside you will find many craftisans weaving cloth and chisel timber. Highlights: You can examine the beautiful temples which are studded stones and winding streets which makes you bring back memories of the olden times. Location: It is 1 hour and 35 minutes from flight. Price: NPR 2000. Best time to visit: March to April and October to November in late afternoon

One of the most outstanding trek lies between Gaurishankar Himal and Rolwaling Himal. Highlights: You can take a walk through the Teahouse, Lodge and Camping. You can also get a glimpse of the Sherpa community and the beautiful and spectacular view of Himalayan range. This beautiful ares was first explored during the preliminary surveying of Mount Everest.
