About Sentosa Express Ticket:
The scheduled timing for Sentosa Express is as follows: The first train from Sentosa Station and Beach Station is at 7.00 am. Likewise, the last train from Sentosa Station and Beach Station is at 10.00 pm (Monday to Thursday). Please note that the last train between Friday and Sunday, and public holidays is at midnight. During peak hours, trains run at regular intervals (every 3 minutes). As we know, trains depart at given times, and no delay or extension is allowed at any cost. Travellers are requested to backpack their items and reach the departure point at least 15 – 30 minutes to complete the formalities and board before the train starts.
This monorail system takes you from one end of the line to the other in just 8 minutes. With modern technology and state-of-the-art infrastructure, the train has attained an exceptional reputation for its bullet speed and unmatched stability. One can come across the famous tourist attractions from Singapore to Sentosa Island and relish their mind like never before. Since the new system has included an Automatic Train Operation (ATO) function, it allows the train to be fully automated. The Sentosa Express light rail departs from VivoCity Station and reaches Beach Station. To reach the starting point, you need to catch the train by heading toward VivoCity (the largest shopping mall in Singapore). Firstly, you need to take the MRT and get down at the Harbour Front station. From there, you can go as per the signs to Exit E to the third level and reach the departure point at Lobby L. In case you get confused, you can ask your tour operator for help. He is sure to guide you and make sure you reach the place on time.
There is one standard Sentosa Express Ticket for both adults and children. However, children aged between 0 and 2 years can board the Sentosa Express train freely only after being accompanied by an adult. The adult can enter once he or she has bought the journey ticket. Please note that there is an online confirmation receipt is valid for redemption from Sentosa ticketing counters within 3 months from the date of purchase. And the ticket allows only one-time admission into Sentosa Island.
There are totally four stations involved in this ride. Station 1 – VivoCity: It is the interchange station with the North East Line and Circle Line. This station is accessible via VivoCity Lobby L on Level 3. Here the colour scheme is Orange. Station 2 – Resorts World: It was previously called Waterfront Station, and it is built within the Resorts World Sentosa Integrated Resort. Here, the colour scheme of the station is Green. Station 3 – Imbiah: This station is sought-after for its various attractions in its surroundings. Here, the colour scheme of the station is Purple. Station 4 – Beach: One can see the famous Siloso and Palawan beaches near this station. Here, the colour scheme of the station is Blue.
In Sentosa Express, tourists are not allowed to bring their food or drinks inside. However, once you reach the final station (Beach Station), you can get the best food available there. Since the overall journey is less than 10 minutes, it is okay to stay relaxed without having food and enjoy the sightseeing. Tourists mostly eat at closely located places and make their tummy half-filled before getting onto the train. And, once the journey is over, they can get into the nearby restaurants and fill their appetite.
Yes. Children are charged to get into Sentosa Express. To avoid the ticket counter, you can book the tickets online as it saves time at the last minute of departure. If your child is aged between 0 – 3 years, you don’t need to buy a ticket for them. They can enjoy the ride freely without paying any amount. For children, this ride is nothing but a beautiful paradise, where they can witness the popular attractions within Sentosa Island for the first time.
Yes. This exquisite rail journey operates on weekends as well. The Sentosa Express operates throughout the year without any breaks. Tourists can book the tickets and board the train anytime they want. Unlike weekdays, you can find more crowds during weekends, particularly family trippers and honeymooners. Hence, you are requested to book the weekend tickets well in advance. Don’t forget that the last train from Friday to Sunday and at Public Holidays is at 12.00 am. So one can catch the last train at least and experience the exciting ride.
The HarbourFront MRT Station on the North-East Line is the nearest metro station to Sentosa Express. Since the pathway is well connected internally, one is no need to walk outside, unless they’d like to. It is within walking distance, it takes approximately 600 m to reach the location. As long as the landscape is surrounded by scenic beauty for pictures, it is worth walking for a few minutes.
