Paragliding Near Mumbai Overview

Activity Location:  Kamshet Tower Hill or Shelar Site (Karanjgaon)

Activity Timings: 9 AM or 3 PM.

India is a country with naturally lofty hills, as well as two huge mountain ranges—the Western Ghats and Himalayas. This makes India a perfect land for paragliding. For those living or visiting the western reaches of India, Kamshet and nearby destinations are the ideal spots of paragliding, in Maharashtra. Kamshet is a beautiful destination located at about 110km from Mumbai and 45km from Pune that is decked with the beauty of the Sahyadri Ranges and valleys.

  • Embark on an exciting experience of paragliding in Kamshet with a set of certified pilots and flying enthusiasts.
  • A daylong course will take you through paragliding of 3 different types namely; Classic Tandem, Instructional Tandem, and Acro Tandem.
  • A two-seater plane will take you high up in the air from where you can take your paragliding flight with a certified instructor.

The recommended time for paragliding in Lonavala and Kamshet is October to May whereas since June to September is monsoon season in India, it is recommended to have  word with the destination expert before booking. Photos and videos cost INR 500 per passenger. The operator will be providing an Action camera to record.

Variants: 

Joy Tandem - This basic ride is designed for beginners who just want to soar in the sky. Simply sit it back and enjoy the ride.
Flying time: 8 - 10 min

Instructional Tandem​ - You have control while flying. The pilot will instruct you and take care of safety. You can taste the flying on your own.
Flying time: 10-15 min

Acro Tandem - This is an extreme adrenaline rush ride. Only highly experienced pilots can take you to this ride.

How to reach: 

When its east wind, the activity will be held at Kamshet tower hill and when its west wind, the activity will be at Shelar site (Karanjgaon). The destination will be informed on the date of travel in prior.
1) For Kamshet tower site: Come to Kamshet via old Mumbai-Pune highway. Mumbai to Kamshet distance is 102 Km. Pune to Kamshet distance is 49 Km. Lonavala to Kamshet distance is 19 km. The meeting point is near Rangoli Hotel. You have to park your car or bike beside the hotel because the road till the flying site is not suitable for cars/bikes. From the meeting point, you will be traveling in a jeep till the flying site. Jeep cost is a thousand rupees one way. The cost will be divided by the number of passengers. Also, while returning you can hire a cab till the meeting point.
2) For Shelar site: Pune to Karanjgaon distance is 53 Km whereas it is 110Km from Mumbai. You can easily reach the Paragliding spot in your private vehicle.

Child Policy: Children are not allowed for the activity. 

Suitable for: Age group between 18 - 50.  

Note: Travelling cost to and from Hotel Rangoli to Paragliding spot is not included.

  • If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

  • If cancellations are made within 0-30 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get cancelled. In such cases operator will try their best to provide an alternate feasible. However a cash refund will not be applicable for the same.

  • Cancellations are strictly subjected to cancellation policies mentioned on the website & are irrespective of the date of booking.

    First-time paragliding and the experience was simply awesome, the day I took this activity it was a sunny day the sky was so clear in which it gave the view more beautiful for all the witnesses, I had so much fun in the sky I and the pilot we took many good pictures together... for memory... The activity lasts for 20 minutes. I had a great time for the entire 20 minutes enjoying the beauty of nature from the top.
