Thrillophilia made this trek a memorable one for me. It is one of the difficult treks in India. As we have to fight with low oxygen level and low temperature. But the team were was so cooperative that they helped me to match up the pace. They provided separate tents to sleep, dine and cook. they provide hot cooked food. Everything is prepared for us when we reach the base camp.Amazing!!!! Kudoos!!!!!!

I love competing but Parvathi from thrillophilia helped me to understand that Chadar is not for competition and we should hear to the trek leader. I was initially okay with it but when I was on the group I used to recall words from parvathi. But it was actually the guidance one should follow.

Trek was amazing however would like to mention PROS AND CONS.. Pros: trail is out of the world, guides were helpful..without them the trek is impossible., hot food was cooked right infornt of us which is again good, briefing was very informative whioch made us trust the guides and their entire team.. CONS: pick up was delayed by 30 mins, evacuation was poor however sumod and team handled it well.. group need to be even small i fell.. but yeah right group is all more fun.. overall good.. scope of improvements are there .. probably few years later I would love to do this trek again with Thrillophila for the things they did right this time.. thanks guys

Never experienced such a beauty. Amazing frozen waterfall at Naeraki, icy sheet to walk on at a temperature falling to as low as -35 degrees in night!Chadar Trek has been a great experience. Thanks to Thrillophilia team for the constant support!

Experience that just cannot be explained in words. If you're going out for this adventure, you better start preparing for it beforehand. Walking on the ice sheet for 6-7 hours a day is not an easy task. No electricity, no cell phones. Infact if you're planning to take a lot of pictures along the way, you'll need battery backup too! This is going to be a whole new experience with no access to luxuries but living all the 9 days on the basics and getting mesmerized with the beauty the nature beholds!

The most thrilling experience I've ever had!!!Icy path, frozen falls, breathtaking views. A memorable experience for a lifetime! If you're planning to take this up, November is the right time to book if you want dates of your choice. Most of the slots of the top operators get booked by December mid week.Happy traveling!

9 days of complete thrill! On this trek to the frozen river, we had some really amazing sights. The frozen waterfall in Naeraki that we witnessed on the 5th day of our trek was so magnificent. Walking on that ice sheet was an amazing experience in itself. After ticking this off from my bucket list, i'm all the more inspired to take up the Everest Base Camp trek next.

Completing this trek is a success in itself. I and my friend started off together. We joined a group of 18 and set off in January 2016. The temperature dropped to -33 degrees during our journey and my friend, Shreya, had severe breathing issues which led her dropping out of the trek & head back home.It was not easy to walk in such extreme climatic conditions. but with every break-camp, we were served hot food being served by the cooks. The staff was really supportive and the other group members really helpful. I felt good that inspite of all the odds, i was able to complete the trek.

No wonder why this trek is called the Chadar Trek. The sight of the frozen river of Zanskar was breath taking. Amazing experience with great tour guides who helped us beat the odds and complete the trek without any difficulty.

The rating I give to this trek is 5/5. I have done this trek in February this year and it was really the best experience ever. I along with my cousin brother went on this trek. We had an amazing cook Mr. Tsering and trek leader Mr. Tenzin Dolma who was well aware of the trekking route as he belongs to this region only and he told us that he is doing Chadar since the age of 16 years. On our very first day, he briefed us about the whole trek and the challenges that we might face during the trek. Our trek route was through Chiling to Tilad do. We trekked through the thin sheet of ice very cautiously and our trek leader asked us to take small steps. Slowly we were able to walk at a good pace. We reached our campsite and enjoyed a delicious freshly cooked dinner. Camping at the Tibb cave was another great adventure for us, our tents and sleeping bags were of very good quality and used to keep us warm. During the trek we could see lot of Buddhist prayer flags tied to the trees which were creating positive

If you are hard core trekkers and love the Himalayas you should go for Chadar trek. It will be an experience of lifetime. A great team of fellow trekkers and supporting staff that made our trek memorable.

Chadar is amazing trek but you need to keep few things in mind. Number one mobile signal is very week so inform your family about your whereabouts in Leh only. You will get hot water so don’t carry much water with you and you will get proper meals during the trek so don’t carry extra energy bars etc with you as it will increase the weight of your backpack. Don’t jump in river like other stupid people as you will get hypothermia. Wear 2-3 layers of cloths and carry gloves to save yourself from harsh winter. Rest assured you will have amazing time on this trek.

I was waiting for January to arrive soon and Zanskar river to get frieze. As I already booked my trek in November and I was counting days so that I can go this trek. Ladakh was covered with the blanket of sheet and this was the first time I had seen barren mountains of Ladakh fully covered in snow. During our trek we came across frozen waterfall, wild fox, Bara Singha, Caves, monks, prayer flags and local people. All these sights are still alive in my heart and three cheers to team of guides and supporting staff for taking care of our each and everything.

People are more scared to attempt this trek due to the fitness requirement. But, believe me, it is one of the easiest trek I have done so far. The trek is complete flat. If you are able to walk approx. 10 Km everyday, then you can easily do the trek. I have seen almost 50% of trekkers are first timers and they are able to complete the trek without any issue. It’s all about mental fitness first. .

I was very excited for this trek since the day I booked. One the first day when I landed on Leh airport my excitement level increased a lot. Even though I did quite a few difficult treks in Himalayas but this was totally different. I never walked on frozen river and thought of it making me nervous and excited. I hardly write reviews but the level of service I received from team thrillophilia and their operator in Leh, I think they deserved one thanks and appreciation for all the hard work. Just want to give one suggestion regarding food as I didn’t like it much if you can arrange non veg also during the trek that will be amazing.

In the spine-chilling winter, what else could be more amazing than a hot piping food, freshly prepared in front of you while you return from the trek, all tired and hungry. We had such luxury while we were on Chadar Trek. Amazing staff! Amazing food!

I have always seen great ads almost everywhere about this frozen river trek with exciting pictures of this ice sheet. I always wondered how would it be to walk on this ice sheet and when I did, in 2015, I felt like on top of the world. Forget everything, this experience gives you a whole new outlook towards life. It was during this trek that we got to know that the Zanskar Village is connected with Leh only via this Chadar during Winters. No wonder it was a cakewalk for the tour guides with us. Amazing experience, excellent service, great food! This has been one of the best experiences of my life so far!

What an amazing experience! The best part about 2016 was this trek to the frozen river of Zanskar that we took up in the month of February. Breath taking views, extreme climate, pahaadi food and the experience of the Village guides completed our tour! If you're a trekker, I must say this is the MUST-DO adventure for you!

I took up the Chadar Trek in 2015 with 4 of my friends from work. We all had quite an experience of trekking but when it comes to Chadar Trek, trust me, nothing is enough. 9 Days of total atmospheric change, with temperature dipping to -30 degrees was not at all easy but surely an experiential one. Thanks to Thrillophilia with which we booked this tour. The services of the guides and porters were commendable.

Have been trekking over the span of 2 years now, and Chadar Trek was on my list. I was a bit skeptical about the accomodation and food available there, but thanks to Thrillophilia, everything was superb. The tents were of good quality.

Our team building activity was really great. We had a very skilled instructor; he was very detailed while explaining the game to us. While building the bridge we had to be careful about the bridge so that it can hold two cars together. A good amount of cross team communication is required.
