Situated at an altitude of 3,300m above the sea level, Kareri Lake serves as an amazing trekking option. The trek allows you to celebrate and say goodbye to the year 2019 in an offbeat way. Lush forests, narrow terrains, whirly passes, scenic meadows are all ready to help you welcome the year 2020 with a bang.

About the Trek:
Bid farewell to the year 2019 between the ranges of Dhauladhar Mountain. Trek through the panoramic views of lush green forest. Arrive at Dharamkot in Mcleodganj to start the trek and reach Kareri Village. The trek to Kareri Lake starts in the morning. Varied terrains ranging from straight roads to river crossings over wooden bridges, and steep ascents the trek is ready to mesmerise you.

With this special package, before new year comes, enjoy the local cuisine of this region and meet the local people to share a cup of tea with them. Dhauladhar ranges prove to be a true treat to the eyes. Bonfire at night helps us to meet other trekkers and share a burst of laughter or two. This tour promises you a perfect celebration in the middle of nature. Welcome 2020 with a gift that you give to yourself with this package.

Stay:
The stay is in tents. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable. The tents are on a sharing basis.

Meals:
Meals include breakfast, lunch and dinner. Meals start with Lunch on day 1 and ends with Breakfast on Day 3.

How to Reach:
The site can be easily reached by means of public or private transport.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Dharamkot to Kareri Village (Height 2200m | Distance 8 KM)

    Arriving at Dharamkot and meet other trekkers.

    Trek to Kareri Village.

    Meeting the people of Gaddi Tribe native to the Kareri region.

    Spend the night in the tents or in one of the village houses.

  • Day 2 - From Kareri Village, trek to Kareri Lake (Height 3500m | Distance 13 KM)

    Have your breakfast and carry the packed lunch on your way to the Kareri Lake.

    Trek alongside the Kareri Nullah Stream.

    Cross over the rivulet a number of times using wooden bridges.

    Adore glacial lake after reaching the base of the Minkiani Pass

    Trek back to the Kareri village.

    Overnight stay in Kareri Village with a campfire

  • Day 3 - Back to Mcleodganj

    Have Breakfast.

    Trek back to Mcleodganj.

    Go back with a lot of memories.

    Christmas can’t be celebrated without snow around you and I am glad that I went for this trek in the Himachal to celebrate my Christmas holidays. Kareri lake trek was very adventurous and we meet the local tribe during our trek. Life in mountains is very peaceful away from city horns and pollution. People are very welcoming and generous and I am already planning to go for another trek in couple of months.
