The House of Terror Museum (Terror Háza Mzeum) in Budapest is a great place to go if you want to learn about the darker side of Hungarian history. The museum, which is housed in a building that was originally the headquarters of the Arrow Cross Party and the secret police, provides an insight into life under fascist and Stalinist control. See the terrifying remains of the prison cell where you can notice unique rooms, which include a "wet cell," a "fox hole," a holding cell, a torture chamber, and an execution room with gallows.
