Location: Orchha, Madhya Pradesh

Stay with a local family & discover India differently. Orchha is a great place to relax in and discover 17th-century monuments. If you wish to get away from the beaten track of commercial tourism and experience life in an ordinary Indian family, we can help you do so.

Home Stays offer clean and comfortable rooms, furnished in traditional style, built in the courtyard of the host family. The rooms have fans and mosquito nets and the bathroom & toilets are ecological and are shared with the family. The family provides home-cooked food and kids have plenty of playmates.

The home-stay is a 25-minute walk from the palace. This is a social enterprise allowing poor families to benefit from tourism and visitors to see how most families in India live today. Call it responsible for tourism or ecotourism - your visit will improve the lives of many and be an experience to remember.

How to reach Orchha Homestay:
By Air: The nearest airports to Orchha are Gwalior Airport (113 km) and Khajuraho Airport (155 km).
By Train: The nearest railway junction to Orchha is Jhansi, which is 16 km away and Gwalior (113 km) away.
By Bus: Orchha is well-connected by road to places like Jhansi, Gwalior, and Khajuraho. You can hire a taxi or bus to reach Orchha from these places.

Accommodation:
You will stay in one of the six homes in a simple tiled room that is well adapted to the local climate, clean and comfortable. The rooms are equipped with lights, a fan and mosquito nets, and furnished with wooden beds or charpoys, natural cane chairs, and a table. Each of these houses has a newly built bathroom and toilet that is shared with the family. Three houses have Indian-style, composting toilets and three have a Western flush toilet.

Meal

The host families provide tasty, hygienically prepared meals and will dose the amount of spices according to your taste. You should let them know the day before if and when you would like breakfast, lunch or dinner. Sharing a meal with them is often a heart-warming experience.

Orchha Homestay : Cancellation Policy

If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

If cancellations are made within 0-15 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get cancelled. In such cases operator will try their best to provide an alternate feasible. However a cash refund will not be applicable for the same.

Cancellations are strictly subjected to cancellation policies mentioned on the website & are irrespective of the date of booking.

The applicable refund amount will be processed within 15 business days

All applicable refunds will be done in traveller's thrillophilia wallet as Thrillcash

Orchha Homestay : Booking Confirmation Policy

The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email within 24 hours of successful booking

In case the preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule of the customer’s preference will be arranged and a new confirmation voucher will be sent via email.

Alternatively, the customer may choose to cancel their booking before confirmation and a full refund will be processed.
