Set in a clearing amidst 100 acres of untouched forests in Uttrakhand, the stay is an 80 years old heritage homestay. Built in 1933 and designed in the colonial style by a Sanskrit scholar for his Polish doctor wife this warm homestay offers stunning views of Nanda Devi and the surrounding peaks on clear days. The homestay comprises of two large suites Buransh and
Utish on the ground floor and two rooms Kafal and Padam with double beds on the first floor and family cottage with a loft on the ground floor, all with attached washrooms and a balcony/patio. The homestay is situated in the forest high up on mountains, which requires a beautiful 1 hour 30-minute
trek through large conifers, thick oaks, luscious rhododendrons, and fruit
trees lining the path. For those unable to trek there is a horse that can carry them up the hill.
The stay is a perfect example of luxury as well as an adventurous stay. Guests can take a nature walk around the homestay to visit the beautiful waterfalls that come on the way to the house. There are 3 beautiful trails to explore around the house for outdoor enthusiasts named- Kanarkha trail, Gaula River trail, and Panyali trail.
Panyali trail: It an easy hike for 6km, leading you to the picturesque Panayali village. Guests can have a picnic above the village in the pine forests and get a 360-degree view of the valleys around.
Kanarkha trail: It is an easy hike where you
walk along the Ridge, with a heart-stopping view of a sheer drop of 2000
ft at an angle of 70 degrees on one side for about an hour of the total
2.30 hr hike. Then it is downhill to Kanarkha an idyllic village with gentle slopes.
Gaula River trail: In this full day's strenuous hike from the stay the trail passes through the picturesque Panayali village leading downhill to the meandering Gaula River, a perennial stream that breaks into cascading waterfalls and clear natural pools held in by rocks on its rambling way downhill. Take a dip in the crystal clear pools and enjoy cool nimbu pani.
Later, enjoy fresh homecooked meals directly from the farm and spend cold evenings by the fireplace in the verandah.
