The Harishchandragad Trek, carried out in the Malshej region of the Western Ghats is one of the most famous treks in the region. The origin of the fort is believed to date back to the 6th century, during the reign of the Kalchuri dynasty. It is located at an altitude of around 4670 feet above sea level and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Visitors will come across Sapta Tirtha Pushkarini Temple and the Kedareshwar Cave where resides a big Shiva Linga, which is surrounded by water. Day 1
Harishchandragad Trek
Upon your arrival, the driver will transfer you from the pickup point to the base village and then enjoy your trek.

  • Get instructions and a briefing from experienced Trek Leaders.
  • Embark on the trek to the captivating Harishchandragad.
  • Reach the picturesque Taramati and soak in the breathtaking views.
  • Explore the spiritual wonders of Harihareshwar Temple, and many more
  • Continue your journey to the awe-inspiring Konkankada, where you can enjoy mesmerizing views.
  • Start your descent back to the base village.
  • Arrive at the base village and savor a delicious lunch.
  • After lunch, commence your return journey, marking an end to the trek.

Trek Itinerary from Kasara:

Day- 1

  • 11:15 PM: Report to the Trekleaders at Kasara Station
  • 11:30 PM: Start journey towards the base village (Pachnai) in a private local vehicle

Day- 2

  • 04:30 AM: Reach base village
  • 05:00 AM: Trek to Harishchandragad
  • 07:30 AM: Reach the Top. Explore the Harishchandreshwar Temple, Kedareshwar Temple, Pushkarni and caves
  • 08:30 AM: Trek towards Kokankada
  • 09:00 AM: Reach Konkankada and have breakfast
  • 10:00 AM: Start descending to the base village.
  • 12:30 PM: Reach Base Village and Have Lunch 
  • 01:30 PM: Depart for Kasara
  • 04:30 PM: Reach Kasara Station

  • 03:30 AM: Reach base village Pachnai
  • 04:00 AM: Start our trek to Harishchandragad post briefing and instructions by Trek Leaders.
  • 07:00 AM: Reach at the Peak. Explore the Harishchandareshwar Temple, Kedareshwar Temple, Pushkarni and caves
  • 08:00 AM: Start trek towards Kokankada
  • 08:30 AM: Reach Konkankada and have breakfast
  • 10:00 AM: Start descending
  • 12:30 PM: Reach base village, have lunch (Veg thali)
  • 01;30 PM: Start return journey to Pune
  • 10:00 PM: Reach Pune

Know Before You Go for Harishchandragad Trek

  • The instructor reserves the right to reject any participant deemed unfit to be part of the activity.
  • Participants are not allowed to carry any sharp object, lighter, luggage bag, alcohol, knife, etc.
  • Participants must pay attention to the guidelines given by the instructor before and after the activity.
  • ID proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of arrival. PAN card will not be considered as a valid address proof.
  • Floaters and Sandals are not allowed, please wear sports shoes or trekking shoes of good quality.
  • Avoid carrying heavyweight for the trek.
  • For safety purposes, Harishchandragad trek is not recommended for women who are more than 3 months pregnant, anyone that has had major surgery, or has a broken leg/arm, has chronic back or neck pains, etc.
  • Harishchandragad trek might be delayed or postponed due to weather conditions. In such a scenario, the next best possible time slot will be informed.
