Visitors descend 20 meters underground to explore tunnels lined with neatly stacked bones, arranged in macabre patterns. The journey through these passages provides a glimpse into Paris' darker history and the city's efforts to manage its deceased population. Beyond its macabre allure, the Catacombs serve as a unique cultural and historical site, offering a reflection on mortality and urban planning in the heart of Paris.
