Overview

Start and End Point of Trek:  Bhagsu Nag Taxi Stand, Mcleodganj
Best time to Visit: April - June & October - November
Difficulty: Moderate

The Bear valley Trek starts from Mcleodganj in Dharamshala and passes through the popular camping ground of Triund, the Laka Got, and the Lahesh Caves.  McLeod Ganj to Indrahaar Pass trek via Triund is a low-moderate difficulty trek. This trek follows one of the more established trails used by the Gaddi shepherds enroot their summer grazing pastures in the upper Raavi Valley and lahaul. Whatever difficulty this trek throws your way, the spectacular views more than compensate for it. To the south there are mesmerizing views of the Indian plains; to the north is the sacred peak of Mani Mahesh Kailash and the snow-capped Pir Panjal Range. 

How To Reach:

The starting point for the trek is Bhagsu Nag Taxi which is easily accessible by public and private transport


Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Mcleodganj to Triund (Height 2875. Distance 9km)

    Kickstart this day with a healthy breakfast and get briefed by the instructor.

    Start your trek through the dense forest of Mcleodganj and pass through the oak, rhododendron and deodar trees until you reach Triund. Have packed lunch on the way to this trek.

    Overnight in a camp or a guest house along with dinner.

  • Day 2 - Triund to Lahesh Cave (Height 3500m. Distance 6km)

    Post breakfast, continue your trekking from Triund and reach Laka Got, a shepherd’s camp.

    Trek through the steep rocks enjoying the sights and reach the Lahesh Cave. Packed lunch will be served in any of the stoppages.

    Overnight camping in the cave along with dinner.

  • Day 3 - Lahesh Cave to Inderhara Pass to Lake Got (height 4350m. Distance 4km)

    Start your day a little late after a delightful breakfast.

    Trek from the Lahesh cave enjoying the wonderful sights of this region.

    The spellbound view from the top of the Pir Panjal range is bound to melt you in beauty. Packed lunch will be served in any of the stoppages.

    Overnight at Laka Got. Dinner will be served at the campsite.

  • Day 4 - Laka Got to Guna Devi (Height 2600m. Distance 10km)

    Start trekking from Laka Got to Guna Devi and get a chance to get a sight of a leopard or a wild bear.

    Visit the Kali temple at Gun Devi .

    Overnight camping near the temple.

  • Day 5 - DAY 05: Guna Devi to Mcleod Ganj Back (1768m) Trek/7 km

    The trek will finally come to an end.

    Post breakfast, conclude the trek to Mcleodganj, and have a fun talk discussing the same.
