How to Reach Dehradun:

  • By Air: You can fly to Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport to get to Bali Pass in Uttarakhand. This is the closest airport to the hiking area. This flight is available from major cities such as Delhi and Mumbai. The flight from Delhi to the destination is about 235 kilometers long and takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you are in Dehradun, you can continue your journey by road to the Sankri base camp.
  • By Train: You can take a train to the Dehradun Railway Station in Uttarakhand to get to Bali Pass. From Delhi, you can take a 5- to 6-hour rail ride (covering around 250 kilometers) on the Shatabdi Express or the Mussoorie Express. From Mumbai, you can take the Dehradun Express. On reaching Dehradun you can continue the onward journey to Sankri base camp and reach Bali Pass via road.
  • By Road: To reach Bali Pass you can board the Uttarakhand Roadway buses, Volvos or taxis from big cities like Delhi, Dehradun, and Haridwar. It takes about 6 to 7 hours to get to Dehradun from Delhi on NH58 or NH7. On reaching Dehradun you can continue the onward journey to Sankri village, the trek's starting point in 8-9 hours via road.
