Srirangapatna
Srirangapatna is located in the Mandya district of Karnataka, which is anglicized as Seringapatam during the British Rule, has a religious, cultural and historic place.
There is a temple of Lord Vishnu called Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in here. The statue of Lord Vishnu is etched here which sleeps on the great snake Anantha.
Srirangapatna is supposed to be one of the largest temples in the state. This place is also Tipus death bed. Body of Tipu Sultan was found here. The summer place of Tipu sultan called was built here in the year 1784. It is made of teak and is now a museum which houses things owned by Tipu and things from his era.
There is a tomb situated in the eastern side of Sriranapatna that has been constructed in the memory of Hyder Ali by Tipu. The best time to visit this place is in the months of Jan and December.
