BRT Wildlife Sanctuary
Marking its prominence in the array of tourist places in BR Hills the BRT Wildlife Sanctuary is a delight for the wildlife lovers. The sanctuary sprawls over an area of almost 539 sq km and is located at an elevation of 5091 ft above the ground.
The forests home a wide array of flora and fauna that include gaurs, sambhar, tigers, leopards, and countless other wild creatures. Apart from this, here you can also spot more than 200 different avian species and relax along with the trails of green thickets.

Dodda Sampige Mara
With the literal meaning the “Big champak tree”, Dodda Sampige Mara is one of the major attractions of this upland. Here one can spot a might tree which is as high as 34m and as broad as 20m. It is all over surrounded by lush green trails and the tranquil setting it extends is a delight for the nature enthusiasts. This tree is more than 2000 years old and holds great significance in the life of the locals. At this champak tree, you can see reddish-yellow flowers in the month of April and that is the best time to visit here.
