Lake Maninjau is a large Crater lake bordered by several villages all around. This lake is said to be formed because of a volcanic eruption some 52,000 years ago. Lake Maninjau has a total area of 99.5km. The average depth of Lake Maninjau is 105 m which can go up to 165 m, it is 16 km long and 7 km wide.
Highlights: The popular tourist attraction Antokan river is located to the west side of the lake. Visitors can indulge in adventurous activities like trekking, paragliding, bike ride to Kelok 44 or swimming here. Puncak Lawang is a Pine Hill park around the lake that enables you to see it from a good height. The view from here is just spectacular and you can't resist taking a picture of it. You can also visit the birth house of Buya humka, a famous litterateur, and ulema.
