One of the most exquisite places on earth, Forests of Tinjure, Milke and Jaljale are a must visit if you are fond of tranquility and nature. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, an incarnation of Parvati, the wife of Shiva.



Highlights: While Hinduism usually promotes vegetarianism, this temple has a lot of blood and a number of animals sacrificed for the goddess. It is believed that Goddess Kali has a blood-lust. Therefore, the pilgrims bring anything from ducks to goats, pigs to sheep and even buffalo as a gift for the goddess. These are cut into meat by priests, who are quite skillful butchers. The temple has a religious bazaar as well.

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is the smallest of Terai’s National Park. However, it is a birdwatcher’s paradise. The grassland habitat is home to almost 500 species of birds and is also the habitat for endangered water buffalo species called the arna. This place was founded in 1976 and it is located on Sapt Kosi river, one of the tributaries of River Ganga

Highlights: The wildlife reserve is certainly a serene arena, where you can enjoy rare species of birds, from Swamp francolin to Sarus Crane and Bengal Florican. During the winters, migratory species from Siberia and Tibet welcome you. This place is popular for gangetic dolphins as well, along with marsh muggers, golden jackals, blue bulls, deer, civet cats and porcupines. Visit the bridge at Koshi Barrage to spot gangetic dolphins. You will be surprised with the number of animals and the natural beauty that can be observed at this place.

Jute mills in Nepal are widely popular. But the most popular Jute Mill is the Biratnagar Jute Mill. This widely well-known mill is also the oldest in the country. The jute mills were established in 1936, after the orders of Prime Minister Juddha Shamsher.

And therefore, it is also the inspiration for the industrial revolution and development of manufacturing companies across Nepal. One of the greatest Hindu pilgrimages in Nepal, Baraha Chhetra is the spot where Lord Bishnu’s avatar, Barah- a boar incarnation fought with the demon called Hiranakshya and killed him. The shrine is dedicated to the reincarnation, Barah and the images of the boar are spread beautifully throughout the temple. The temple is located at the confluence of might Saptakoshi and Koka Rivers.
