Udupi

Experiential journeys will make you a storyteller
About Udupi
Udupi is a wonderful holiday destination in Karnataka located about 60 km away from Mangalore. One of the unique things about this city is that it is surrounded by the Western ghats on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other. After Bangalore and Mangalore, Udupi is the most important city in Karnataka.

Udupi is famous for its scenic beauty, mouth watering cuisines, pristine beaches and untouched forests. One of the best things to do in Udupi is explore the wonderful green forests and get a glimpse of some of its rare inmates. The intricately carved temples are visited by devotees and history buffs all year round. Udupi has a rich cultural heritage with a history that is over 700 years old.

Udupi has some of the most beautiful places to visit in Karnataka such as the famous Krishna temple which is visited by devotees all year round. Other popular places to visit here are St. Mary’s Island, Bramhvar, Barkur, Maple Beach, Kudlu Falls and Anantheshwar Temple.

Udupi city is not only famous for having some good temples and beaches, but you can also do some fun activities in this city. You can try the banana boats on Maple beach or ride the speed boats and enjoy a trip to St Mary's island. Apart from boating, you can also do trekking, river rafting, water sports, pilgrimage, and many other outdoor activities. Udupi is also a great place to shop for Kanjeevaram sarees and other silken goods.

This city of Karnataka gets quite hot in summer with soaring temperatures that averages around 40°C. Udupi is no different during the day but it gets quite pleasant in the evenings. Monsoon brings with it moderate to heavy showers which may hamper your sightseeing expeditions if you plan to visit during this time.  However, the best time to visit this interesting town is between October to March. This is the time when the weather is at its best and the surroundings have been washed over and refreshed after the monsoons rains.

The stay at Dandeli was not upto the mark. The stay at Murudeshwara and Udupi was nice. Some places maintained in the iteneary was closed like malpe beach at Udupi and wildlife sanctuary at Dandeli. But we cover another places instead of them. Overall it was a good experience

Paradise Lagoon is a great luxury stay in Udupi. We spent two nights here with Thrillophilia. The resort was just by the river and offered fantastic views on all sides. The staff service here was commendable as well.
