Sundarban

Experiential journeys will make you a storyteller
About Sundarban
Sundarban is a cluster of most extensive estuarine forests and is considered to be one of the best tourist attractions in West Bengal. It spans from the river Hooghly in West Bengal to the Baleswar river in Bangladesh. It is the part of the world’s largest delta that is formed by river Ganges, and it has got its name from the mangrove plants known as the Sundari over here. It is the largest biosphere reserve and National Park in India.

Sundarban boasts of awe-inspiring water bodies and breathtaking landscapes. The thick blanket of greenery that envelops this region makes it a delight for the starved souls craving for a rejuvenating journey. Wherever your sight goes over here you’ll be greeted with the endless vistas of nature and scenic beauty.

Sunderban is a treasure trove for the tourists who wish to have an unadulterated view of nature. Netidhopani is a popular tourist destination in Sunderban, and you can find here centuries-old ruins of Shiva temple. You can also visit Sajnekhali Wildlife Sanctuary at Sundarban, which is home to some of the rarest bird species such as herons, egrets, etc.

If you wish to indulge in an offbeat adventure, then Sunderban should be your best resort. It is the place where you can spot the tiger species, crocodiles, and Olive Ridley turtles. You can also take a holy dip at Gangasagar during Maha Sankranti. You can also try camping over here for a rejuvenating experience.

Sunderban experiences a tropical climate with cold winters and hot summers. During Summer (April-June), the temperature ranges from 30 to 42 degrees Celsius, and the temperature is scorching and humid during this season. September to March is the ideal time to visit Sundarban as the weather remains quite pleasant during this time in this area.
