Pithoragarh is a scenic hill station that was carved from the Almora district in Uttarakhand and is a beautiful paradise for the visitors. It lies in the centre of Soar valley and has been entitled as the miniaturized Kashmir valley. It is the gateway to the famous pilgrim spot Om Parvat, holy river Manasarovar and Kailash and is revered for being one of the best places to visit in Uttarakhand.

Pithoragarh experiences generally mild and temperate climate all round the year. The average temperature over here is around 16.3 degrees Celsius, and it receives 59.1-inch rainfall per year. During summer, it experiences temperature ranging from 7 to 20 degrees Celsius, and during winter, the temperature drops down to around 4 degrees Celsius.

I've travelled to remote villages in Himachal Pradesh but this was my first time in a village in Uttarakhand and I'm more than happy remembering what a beautiful time we had in this quaint village. The campsite was straight out of a fairytale.

Peaceful location, spacious tents with pretty decent meals. This side of Uttarakhand seemed less explored to us which added to extra perks of living in this riverside camp. DO go for kayaking in the river.
