Founded by Tensung Namgyal in the year 1670 AD, Rabdentse remained the second capital of the former kingdom of Sikkim till 1793 CE. The place was destroyed by the Nepalese invasion in the 18th century and transformed into ruins. Currently, the Archaeological Survey of India is maintaining and restoring the place.

The Singshore Suspension Bridge is a bridge of 240 metres that connects Dentam and Uttarey in Sikkim. This is one of the highest bridges in Sikkim and offers stunning views of the hills, valleys, streams and waterfalls. The bridge was originally built to cut down the distance between the two villages. Today, the village continues to attract a lot of tourists and is now a major tourist attraction.
