When you’re visiting Thailand, there is no way you can miss out on the Koh Phangan nightlife scene, which is alive with festivals, parties and events that are truly one of a kind. Earlier, the island used to attract wildlife enthusiasts, backpackers and trekkers only, but now it is known for its colourful parties and festivals that people from all over the world come to visit.

While most of the island offers a quiet retreat for travellers, with serene beaches and pleasant tropical waters, nightlife in Koh Phangan offers a completely different experience. If you are in Koh Phangan for the nightlife, you must visit Haad Rin, which is a small area that has the greatest number of bars and clubs on the island.

The Full Moon Party that occurs twice a month in Koh Phangan, is the most attractive event that takes place over here. Established in 1985 as a small festival for a few local hippies, the Full Moon Party is now the ultimate destination for dance, festivities, hedonism and celebration in all of Thailand. It is held in Ban Tai, which is a short ride away from Koh Phangan and is visited by over 5,000 tourists and locals every month.

You can find many bars on the island which are mostly located in the Chaloklum area and some in Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi, which are modelled on the Reggae culture. Thong Nai Pan is the place to go if you are in the mood to dance through the night. It has several clubs and open-air party venues where there are live performances and lively music to keep you entertained. Koh Phangan has a lot to offer, whether you are looking for quiet dinner spots, a club to dance the night away, a party to freak out in, or a bar where you can spend time with the locals.
