About Harare
Nestled in the north-eastern part of Zimbabwe in the Mashonaland region, Harare is one of the scenic cities. Being the capital, it is one of the lovely places to visit in Zimbabwe. Until 1982, this city was known by the name Salisbury but was rechristened as Harare on the 2nd Zimbabwean Independence Day.

At an altitude of 1,483 metres, Harare has a parkland landscape. Home to several parks and outdoor spaces, it is frequently referred to as Zimbabwe's Garden or  Sunshine City.

National Gallery of Zimbabwe

Art galleries are usually on top of the must visit places no matter which city you visit. The National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Harare is highly focused on presenting and conserving the country's contemporary art and visual heritage. The gallery stays closed on Saturday and Sunday so plan your trip accordingly. Don’t forget to visit the gallery as some fine art is waiting for you.


Chapungu Sculpture Park

You will be surprised to know that Zimbabwe is home to some of the best stone sculptors in the world. To showcase their work and give their art a boost, the Chapungu Sculpture Park displays all kinds of stone sculptures created by the world famous stone sculptors of Zimbabwe. The park was found by Roy Guthrie as he was very keen in promoting the work of Zimbabwe's sculptors on a world level.

Zimbabwe Museum of Human Science

The Zimbabwe Museum of Human Science was previously known as the Queen Victoria Museum. Some locals still refer to the place by the same name even now so keep both the names handy while you are visiting the place. One of the major attractions of this museum is that it has the 700 hundred year old Ngoma Lungundu which is also said to be the duplicate of Art of the Covenant.


National Botanic Garden

There are many who love to explore different species and types of plants and vegetation. Harare boasts of many such varieties of plants that you will love to see. Inside the botanic garden, there is National Herbarium of Zimbabwe which consists of all kinds of herbs.
