Surrounded by lush rainforest and crystal-clear waters, it serves as the heart of the island’s tourism, offering a mix of relaxation, adventure, and local culture. With no roads or cars, the village maintains a peaceful and eco-friendly atmosphere, where visitors can explore by foot or take boat trips to the island’s famous beaches and natural attractions.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, from hiking trails leading to stunning viewpoints and waterfalls to snorkeling and diving in vibrant marine ecosystems. Popular nearby spots include Lopes Mendes Beach, Blue Lagoon, and Cachoeira da Feiticeira. The village itself is filled with small restaurants, beachside bars, and shops selling handcrafted souvenirs.
