Umm Al Quwain Fort And Museum Overview

The Umm Al-Quwain Museum formerly known as the Umm Al-Quwain Fort was built by Sheikh Rashid Bin Majid Al Mualla in 1768 as an abode to the Mualla family.The most striking object one can see in this Museum is the gold glazed family tree.The entry fee of the Museum for anybody over 15 years of age is 5 AED.Entry is free for visitors below the age of 15.

The history of the property dates 250 years back when it was owned by the royal family and was designated as the Umm-Al Quwain fort. At present it is the official museum of the UAE which illustrates the history of the emirates within the precinct of the fortress.

The major draws of the museum include a majlis, old Bedouin jewellery, fancy weapons and other archaeological finds from Abraq and Al Dour. The museum also houses a wide collection of artefacts excavated from the nearby sites that provide insight to the heritage and culture of the UAE.
