U-Boat Museum Hamburg Overview

One of the top tourist places in Hamburg, U-434 Submarine is a fully operational submarine located in Hamburg's Harbour. This soviet built submarine is from the 1970s and has undergone many stealthy underwater missions. The submarine is currently serving as a museum that is dedicated to the wars and the life of its people.

The U-Boot museum is located in the submarine which is docked at the Fischmarkt market hall and is massive in size, larger than that of the U-91 from Petersen's film. The submarine is 90.16 meters in length which is one of the longest non-atomic submarines in the world. The submarine was built to accommodate 78 men; you can witness the crew's cramped quarters, engine rooms, and torpedo rooms.
