Tholing Monastery Overview
Another monastrery which is a searing spot in Tibet is the Tholing Monastery. One of the oldest monasteries in Ngari, this monastery was built by by Yeshe-Ö, the second King of the Guge Kingdom. This monastery stands at an elevation of 12,400 feet (3,800 m). The complex of the Tholing Monastery includes three temples, the Yeshe-O Temple, the Lhakhang Karpo and the Dukhang.

Highlights: Another interesting thing about this monastery is its stunning architecture. Tholing Monastery complex has rectangular buildings. It is built of mud bricks and has a wall complex facing east. Among the extant temples the most prominent one is the Yeshe-Ö Temple. The temple is reconstructed after it had been demolished by the Chinese, in a mandala style.
