A sacred yet secretive canyon protected as a gem in Bali is Sukawati canyon. As tourists will nod their head in agreement if I say Sukawati is the place where you can visit the famous art market for an extensive shopping at very cheap rate. But the importance of SukawatCanyonon was built up recently after it got disclosed to the public through social media.
The canyon is an addition to the beautiful attraction spread across the island and also a popular addition to your Bali packages. People in Bali began to address it as Guwang Hidden Canyon since it is located in a small village called Guwang in Sukawati. The entrance is near Pura Dalem Guwang.
Highlights: Sukawati canyon has grown up to a favourite tourist attraction in Bali. A lot of travelers come to visit this precious and sacred canyon. At the parking area, you will get a chance to see local people roaming around the village and doing day to day trade. A small hut can be seen where you can give some donation in order to access the canyon but it is not an entrance fee as such. They will offer you guidance if you ask for ut. The pathway that lead to the canyon is short and you can reach there in 10 minutes by foot.
The route strides along the shallow river, letting you cross some boulders. Though majority of the river is shallow, there are much deeper portions within it. If you wear shorts, swimwear or tanks top, then it would be easy to cross the river and the rock formations. But the place is not recommended for kids as well as elders since the routes are challenging. Wedged amidst the unorthodox serenity, the canyon is a lovely place to explore and do trekking.
Entrance fee: There is no entrance fee to be paid but a donation can be given to the guards.
