The Brandenburg Gate Overview

One of the top Berlin tourist attractions, The Brandenburg Gate is the first Greek revival building in the city built between 1788 to 1791. This beautiful building was inspired by the monumental gateway located at the Acropolis in Athens, designed by architect Carl Gotthard Langhans. This iconic structure is 26 metres in height, 65.5 metres long surrounded by two rows of six Doric columns.

The Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor) is one of Berlin's most acclaimed memorable milestones. Earlier it represented an image of an isolated country. Now it shows an image of solidarity and harmony. During the Cold War, its physical situation was an obstructed entryway along the Berlin Wall of Germany.

It thus made it a continuous site for exhibits by West Berliners. Visiting the Brandenburg Gate around evening time because it looks like an absolute carnival of lights, and without a doubt is one of the best places to visit in Berlin.
