St. Fagans National Museum, also known as Amgueddfa Werin Cymru(Museum of Welsh Life), is a unique open-air museum and the best place to visit Cardiff. St. Fagans National Museum is Europe’s most popular heritage attraction. It occupies the grounds of historic St. Fagans castle. More than 50 historic buildings are bought here from their original location and reassembled. The wealth of these historic buildings are gathered together on this beautiful site. Here you can explore the 18th-century chapel, workmen’s institute, war memorial, a corn mill, farmhouse, medieval church, a woolen mill, Victorian school, a traditional clog–maker’s workshop, and a medieval prince’s hall, which makes the museum an exciting places to go out in Cardiff with kids and family.
The museum holds a display of traditional crafts made by blacksmiths, pottery makers, weavers,s, etc. St. Fagans National Museum was intended to preserve aspects of Welsh rural life. Highlights of the museum include Welsh Rural Life exhibits, a working farm preserving local Welsh native breeds of livestock, a unitarian nonconformist chapel, the medieval parish church of Saint Teilo, A Tudor merchant’s house, and Industrial working life exhibits.
