The Oscar Schindler’s Enamel Factory is a dysfunctional metal making factory in Krakow. Due to the significant contributions made by the founder Oscar Schindler, it finds a name in the history of Krakow. Get to know about Oscar Schindler, the man who saved more than 1200 Jews and being the protagonist of the movie - Schindler's List.
At the time of Nazi raids and occupation, when the Jewish people lived in the fear of persecution, Schindler employed more than 1,200 jews to work at the factory. This not only benefited them monetarily, but also saved them from the Nazi concentration camps.
Today, it has been converted into a museum and has two major exhibitions. The main exhibition is the ‘Krakow under Nazi occupation 1939 to 1945’. The exhibitions highlight the life of people in Krakow at the time of the second World War, and give a glimpse into the horrendous treatment of Jews.
