RYNEK GLOWNY

The Rynek Glowny is a major public square in the mediaeval Old Town, which is of immense political and cultural significance. Due to its proximity to major Krakow attractions such as Cloth Hall and the Town Hall, it is thronged by locals and tourists all throughout the year. 

The Rynek Glowny is a public square in the heart of the Old Town in Krakow, and is one of the best places to visit in Krakow. It was officially opened in the 13th century, and since then has been an important centre for political, social and cultural events. It spreads over an area of 10 acres, and as such is one of the largest mediaeval public squares in Europe. 

Due to its proximity to many prominent Krakow attractions, Rynek Glowny is one of the busiest places in the city.

At the heart of the square, you’ll find the famous Cloth Hall, which has been a major centre for cloth trade for centuries and can admire its spectacular architecture in the style of Renaissance. Other major attractions near the square which you can spot include the St. Mary's Basilica, St. Adalbert Church and the Adam mickiewicz Monument.
