Holding much significance in the local history, the Rovaniemi Church is one of the most important spiritual places to visit in Rovaniemi. Although the church was established back in 1817, it was constructed only in 1950. Originally the church featured a wooden building, which suffered destruction during the Second World War.
The present structure of the Rovaniemi Church features a majestic fresco and has the capacity to accommodate over 1,000 devotees at a single time. The Rovaniemi Church also has its name among the largest churches of the city.
