This 70-feet high monument is a much-loved landmark in Sunderland as it showcases remarkable views from the top of the hill. The Penshaw Monument allows you to breathe in some fresh air and catch a glimpse of the beautiful views of the North Pennines and Durham Cathedral. 

The monument makes you feel nostalgic as the structure appears on the badge of Sunderland Football Club. If you want to witness some even more beautiful views, you can climb to the top of the monument through spiral stairs hidden in one of the pillars of the monument.
