Nestled in the heart of Utrecht, Nijntje Museum is also known as the Miffy museum. It is spread across 1500 square metres and is a popular attraction for kids and parents with kids. This museum is known to be highly immersive and interactive in nature for the kids. There are a variety of activities that enhance the senses like smell, sight and sound.

Miffy is a popular cartoon about a young bunny and her friends and this museum is known to bring the character to life. The Nijntje Museum is divided into 12 different sections that bring the cartoon to life, like the shop of poppy pig and the town and the world of miniature. With your children, you can simply walk around or even play with the different exhibits to develop your motor skills and learn more about farm life.

How To Reach

  • By Car: Nijntje Museum is 2 kilometres away from the city centre of Utrecht. To reach, you will have to travel for up to 6 minutes by taking the Maliesingel road. 
  • By Bus: Take bus number 2 from the Domplein station and get down at Centraal Museum station. From this station, the Nijntje Museum is located 100 metres away and will take 1 minute to reach by foot. 
  • By Foot: If you are in the centre of the city, take the LF4 route to walk towards the museum. The overall walking time is around 12 minutes and the museum is located 850 metres away from the city centre.

There is nothing like some delicious food once you finish touring the Nijntje Museum. This cafe is usually the go to place for a lot of visitors looking for refreshments. Do note that you will need a pass to access the cafe, so plan your visit to the cafe accordingly. Some of the dishes here include pancakes and sandwiches that you can try out. The cafe is closed on mondays, but on the rest of the days, it is open from 10 am to 5 pm.
