Nidaros Cathedral happens to be a crush of Norway that is located in the heart of the city and is constructed over the burial site of King Olav II. It is one of the best places to see in Trondheim and traditional locations for the consecration of new kings of Norway.
The cathedral was built by King Olav Kyrre. The transept and the chapterhouse of the cathedral gets a Norman architecture of England however the long choir was added in the 13th century. The church has been subjected to damage by fire for several times till date and it was last restored in the early 20th century.
