NEW BRIGHTON PIER

The first pier was built from timber and after its demolition, the second pier was constructed in the same spot and opened to the public on 1 November 199. It stretches 300 meters (980 ft), making it Australasia's longest pier.

The pier is one of the topmost  Christchurch tourist attractions and people love to visit the place. The New Brighton Pier is presently an ideal spot for a variety of activities, such as regular skating on the Pier events and the popular Guy Fawkes fireworks show that takes place every year on 5 November.
