Museum Of Berkshire Aviation Overview

The Museum of Berkshire Aviation is a museum that discloses more about the aviation history of Berkshire wherein once an aircraft industry had thrived in Woodley. The extensive archival collection of the museum has some famous aircrafts like Fairey Gannet T5 and a 1985 BEA airliner, and due to its interesting collection, it has become one of the must places to see in reading.

Museum of Berkshire Aviation is certainly one of the coolest places to visit in Reading which is located on the historic site of Woodley Airfield, in the suburb of Reading. It was established in 1993 with a small but an efficient and informative collection of exhibits related to the Phillips & Powis company, which later had changed its name to Miles Aircraft. The museum is a tribute to the dynamic contribution of Berkshire in the aviation history of the nation as well as the world, and that of Woodley, which was a thriving industry of aircraft.

The exhibits have been put in different galleries and research zones. You find a well organised and categorised picotral archive of the various aircrafts like Broxburn Wanderlust, Fairey Gannet, Fairey Jet Gyrodyne, etc. With the efforts of the museum staff, the history of the several exhibits is restored to bring the history alive for its visitors and help them cherish it better.
