Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile Overview

The Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile is a museum of cars in Turin, northern Italy, and was established by Carlo Biscaretti di Ruffia. Nearly two-hundred vehicles from eighty different automakers and eight different countries are on display at the museum. The museum itself is housed in a structure that was constructed in the 1960s and features three stories.

Turin is home to the National Automobile Museum (Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile), which features a collection of around 200 vehicles spanning 80 automobile companies and 8 nations. Cesare Goria Gatti and Roberto Biscaretti di Ruffia, two early Italian auto enthusiasts, opened the museum in 1932. The museum, which opened in the 1920s and is thus one of the oldest in the field, underwent a radical makeover in 2011 and was subsequently named by The Times as one of the world's 50 finest museums. Visit the oldest iconic museum of Turin with our Europe packages.

There are more than 200 vehicles representing 80 different brands displayed across three stories. It's an evocative trip through time that starts with the first car ever built (by Leonardo Da Vinci) and ends with the most recent Formula One racers. There are a number of galleries in the museum dedicated to rotating exhibitions. In addition, there's the Open Garage, a storage facility for vehicles awaiting display or undergoing maintenance.
