It is the permanent exhibition held by Musée de l'Homme. The circuit lets you understand humans, their history, evolution, and different species, giving you a sneak peek into the possible dystopian future.

Part 1: Who are we?

The first part of the exhibition is an introductory version of mankind and its deep study through anatomical models.

The next level features human ancestry, species of the homo genus, and parallel humans dating back to a million years. The chronological order lets you go through fossils and archaeological artifacts.

Treasures of the collection

  • The ancestor shelter: The ancestor shelter is the most popular highlight of the entire museum as it contains the remaining two of the most famous species of humans i.e. the Homo Sapiens or the current ones and Homo Neanderthalensis, the extinct species. The bones of the man addressed as the ‘old man who lived 10,000 years ago’ is present in this section.
  • Buried Treasure: The buried Treasure section on the mezzanine features four major artifacts dating back to the Upper Paleolithic era. You can have a closer look at them as the lights are dimmed inside.

Part 3: Where are we headed?

Final level features mankind’s questions related to the future along with some interesting collections. Researchers have prepared a model that is kept in this section to understand 5 families across the world, their lifestyles, and behavior.
