How To Reach

By Car: The activity location is 5.6 km from the city centre, it will take 8 min via the E 18 route.

By Bus: Take a bus to Karlstad Weinbergspark station which is 650 metres away from the museum. You can reach the activity location from the bus station with a 8-minute walk.

Mariebergsskogen is open throughout the year, so you can plan your visit to this place at any time of the year. The best season to visit Mariebergsskogen will be the summer season from March to May because this is the time when the climate is pleasant.

Other Essential Information

  • If you are taking the train experience, do remember that children fee is available for those aged 3 years and below. 
  • Visitors can check out the animals in the park at any time when it is open, except when the animals are being fed. 
  • Be very careful when visiting the animals in the park as they can get aggressive sometimes. 
  • You will need at least 3 to 4 hours to explore the premises of the park, so be prepared accordingly.
  • Although you can buy tickets to the train journey on the spot, we recommend buying them well in advance.

Travel in the Conrad Hook Train

During the summer season, tourists can travel in the Conrad Hook train that runs every day. This is an interesting way of taking a guided tour without having to walk much. The train travels along small roads and pathways and also comes with beautiful natural landscapes with forest and water. This experience lasts 20 minutes and will require advance booking. While most of the guided tours are in Swedish, there is only one tour at 2 pm which is conducted in English.
