Mana, Uttarakhand Overview

Mana, Uttarakhand, often referred to as the "Last Indian Village," is a picturesque hamlet located near the Indo-Tibetan border, about 3 kilometers from the revered Badrinath Temple. Nestled at an altitude of approximately 3,200 meters in the Chamoli district, Mana is surrounded by the majestic Himalayas and offers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and verdant valleys.

The village holds immense cultural and historical significance, being linked to ancient Hindu mythology. It is believed to be the place where the Pandavas embarked on their journey to heaven, and visitors can see the famed Vyasa Cave and Ganesha Cave, where sage Vyasa is said to have composed the Mahabharata with Lord Ganesha’s assistance. Mana is also the starting point for the trek to Vasudhara Falls, a stunning waterfall that cascades from a height of 400 feet, and the Satopanth Tal trek, a challenging but rewarding journey for avid trekkers. The traditional wooden houses, the warm hospitality of the local Bhotiya community, and the tranquil ambiance make Mana a unique blend of spirituality, adventure, and natural beauty, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
